Frighteningly I am apparently the only person who can do anything with our xserves. One power failure and another cause unknown. Two of our external buildings have dropped off the network. However all this is officially on hold right now. I was hoping to integrate bootcamp drivers directly into a W7 image that can run on any model of mac from iMac 7,1 upwards but it's looking far easier to integrate the menu system instead and have the drivers deploy from our own servers instead. There is a menu system that allows our 2nd line to choose the appropriate bootcamp drivers but it's. The existing system for deployment involved grabbing a prebuilt ISO image, putting it onto a CD and installing that. I now have to try and integrate the existing sysprep methodology for AD binding and other configuration into the mac deployment system. We have a Casper suite that does allow Bootcamp partition and installation but requires Winclone images to do this. This has been the most irritating part of the project as my boss has INSISTED that future network deployments be made through this, despite the fact that it currently just cannot be done this way. The PC deployment system here is based on ZenWorks 11 and Windows 7. Sounds good to me but this all has an ugly head.
